The National Housing Conference is the premier forum for all in the public and private sectors interested in housing in Ireland. The housing market is affected by, and is a factor in, the current economic recession. The Conference will consider how the public and private sectors can help the housing sector contribute towards economic recovery.

Update on the expanding guidance and legislation from Government for housing and urban design; and reflection on recently built housing and area plans to ensure the planning framework is in place to deal with the recovery.

The Conference is jointly organised by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and by the RIAI, through the Sustainable Communities and Housing Committee. The conference will include the presentation of the RIAI Silver Medal for Housing by Minister for the Environment, Heritage & Local Government.
